Protecting your information
Your personal and firm confidential information will only be shared with other persons delivering NRC IRAP services, persons from NRC or other federal government departments and agencies on a need to know basis, for the program purposes.
The Government of Canada has implemented a series of measures to strengthen public sector management by enhancing transparency
and oversight of public resources in the federal government. All personal information collected by the NRC is governed by
the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act. This means that you will be informed of the purpose for which your personal
information is being collected and how to exercise your right of access to that information. As well, NRC must be able to fully
account for the use of public funds. To that end, NRC is required to publicly disclose all financial contributions to firms
through the Government of Canada's Open Government portal at https://open.canada.ca/en/proactive-disclosure. Published information may include, but is not limited to firm name, project title, project summary and value of contribution.
Access to your information
Access to the IIP is linked to an individual and protected by a password. You must not, under any circumstances, disclose your password. Using another person's account is equivalent to using his or her signature. However, multiple individuals in the firm can have an account.
Data retention
NRC IRAP follows the Treasury Board Secretariat's Directive on Recordkeeping and its policy on Information Management. The disposition of any record is done in accordance with the provisions of the Library and Archives of Canada Act or any other related federal Acts. NRC IRAP retains control over all documents and data held on the IIP and reserves the right to move documents and data within the IIP and to delete documents and data from the IIP at its discretion.
Security
NRC IRAP implements appropriate technical and organizational safeguards to protect against unauthorized or unlawful processing of information and against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure of, or access to information. Your information is considered Protected B as per the Federal government security requirements which means that unauthorized disclosure could cause serious injury to an individual, organization or government.
Your Privacy Obligations
NRC IRAP requires the disclosure of personal and protected information to carry out certain business transactions. You are legally and ethically obliged to manage the personal information and the business confidential information you enter, use, or disclose to NRC IRAP.
